Life3A deliver master plan for an innovative later living island resort development.
Life3A have master-planned a significant later living resort development on Pararekau Island in Auckland, New Zealand.
Pararekau Island is 16.5ha of private residential land connected to Karaka Harbourside overlooking the Pahurehure Inlet.
This unique later living and care precinct will include 256 independent living apartments and villas, as well as 72 care suites, including specialist memory care facilities.
An extensive range of communal facilities provide a high level of amenity for residents, including a health and wellbeing precinct, entertainment hub, and café/dining facilities open to the wider community.
Life3A New Zealand Principal Simon Johnson said the exemplar outcome resulted from a collaborative process, combining international experience and expertise from a global network of studios dedicated to innovation in aged care and later living.
"This is a place where people truly want to come and live. It not only supports them through the phases of ageing, but it also provides an exceptional quality of life where residents can be active, engaged, and will have the best in health and wellbeing support.
"Pararekau Island is a truly revolutionary way to respond to the rapidly changing landscape of later living and care, as well as adapting to more recent challenges such as the Covid-19 pandemic in a way that helps people remain socially connected and safe."
