The client brief centred on the redevelopment and adaptive reuse of an existing office building, transforming it into a specialised dementia care facility (C2 Use Class) for elderly residents. Retaining the majority of the original structure and building envelope, the project balanced respect for the existing fabric with a thoughtful reconfiguration of the internal environment.

The interiors have been reimagined as purposeful, engaging spaces tailored to support the complex needs of residents, offering a rich multi-sensory experience. The design prioritises adaptability, accessibility and safety, establishing a barrier-free environment that encourages independence while maximising access to natural light and spatial clarity.

Despite the inherent constraints of the existing site, Life3A has successfully delivered a secure, dignified and nurturing living environment.

The design supports residents in thriving day-to-day, encouraging social connection, enhancing wellbeing and providing reassurance for both residents and their families.
