Park Meadows
Westmead, Sydney, Australia
At Park Meadows by Uniting, we recognised the vital role that considered interior design plays in enhancing the wellbeing of older adults, particularly those living with dementia. Every design decision was guided by an understanding of how the built environment can positively influence comfort, clarity and emotional security.
Our dementia-friendly approach places safety, dignity and ease of use at the forefront, while embracing best-practice principles of ageing in place. This ensures residents are able to remain in familiar surroundings as their needs change over time. Intuitive spatial layouts reduce confusion, while carefully considered colour contrasts, lighting and material selections support wayfinding and encourage independence. Each element is purposefully designed to create a calm, reassuring and empowering environment.
Through the integration of these principles, spaces such as those at Park Meadows foster a supportive and enriching community where residents feel secure, respected and at home – enhancing both quality of life and everyday experience.
