The Green
Tarragindi, Brisbane, Australia
This project won the 2025 National Retirement Living Award for Sustainability. Comprising 92 independent living units that meet the Australian Liveable Housing Gold Standard, the development also achieves a 4-Star Green Star rating, reflecting a strong focus on energy efficiency and sustainable design, including solar energy systems and rainwater harvesting for irrigation.
Located on the former Tarragindi Bowls Club site, the development maximises the potential of this unique island setting, tucked behind a tree-lined entry boulevard and adjacent to the Tarragindi recreational reserve. The project introduces a new bowls club facility, creating fresh communal energy while seamlessly integrating senior living units within the precinct.
The architectural expression is distinctive, with considered building forms and a façade palette that harmonises with the surroundings. The Green is designed around a philosophy of low-maintenance, private, and secure living, supporting residents’ changing needs over time.
Eleven thoughtfully configured apartment layouts provide abundant natural light, high-quality interior finishes, and integrated technology solutions that keep residents connected, enhance entertainment, and ensure easy access to health and wellness services—delivering a truly sustainable, luxurious, and supportive retirement living experience.
