Project objective
The brief for this project was to deliver the world’s best standard of later living and aged care development. The brief was embraced, and a project was delivered that set numerous new benchmarks for the sector. As a result, it remains one of the world’s best contemporary later living and aged care developments.
Client challenge
Through a limited design competition process, the client set the challenge to envisage the future of aged care. The client wanted our vision for this future. The site and the technical brief had some challenges, which a conventional approach would have delivered a backward-looking outcome. Instead, a new approach was taken to reimagine the future and create new solutions which had not been done before.
Life3A solution
Mark Moran Vaucluse exhibits all the trademark qualities of the Life3A DNA design process, where residents live in a place where they have choice, connectivity, and empowerment. The design of the building breaks all the traditional stereotypes of aged care design by eliminating conventional corridors and providing light-filled modern interior spaces with a high level of luxury and amenity. In addition, the publicly accessible central atrium and village square enable engagement and interaction between residents and the public through the integration of retail, commercial, entertainment and community facilities.
Exceptional outcome
Mark Moran Vaucluse demonstrates what can be achieved when conventions are challenged, and exceptional design and residents’ experience are prioritised.
