Creating a new paradigm for later living in the UK

Project objective

Creating a new, vibrant and inspirational later living destination in the Historic City of Bath. We have created a mixed use, environment that engenders people to be able to age in place with dignity in a safe and inspirational environment. We have knitted together building that encourage social interaction with surrounding neighbourhood, with open inviting amenity spaces. The Guild members also benefit from on-site care, with a care hub and health and wellbeing centre along with flexible, adaptable independent living units.

Client challenge

To provide an ageing solution for all, that respected the local neighbourhood and historical setting by honouring the location through exceptional design.

Life3A solution

Our solution was to weave in the local history, provide exceptional urban design and place making, open the amenity to all, with privacy for the members when they require it. To ensure our ageing better design principals are imbedded into every aspect of the design ensuring that the end user, the Guild member can age in place with dignity and respect.

Exceptional outcome

A building that improves the urban setting by responding to the site constraints and opportunities whilst providing a home like setting for the Guild members. The building provides a safe, secure, inspirational, connected, individual and joyful setting for the Guild members to life their best lives, knowing that every aspect of the design has been considered in relation to improving their life’s.
