Project objective

To create an integrated, open and inspirational later living community in the heart of Walton-on-Thames to address the pressing need for appropriate and well-designed later living accommodation in the area. The design follows the Guild ethos of providing a mix of public and private space, fostering community connections in the heart of the town.

Client challenge

The challenge was to create a community in the heart of Walton town centre where residents can live independently in beautiful surrounds, while maintaining a connection to the town centre and providing services for local people. The proposal needed to tie together a complex townscape solution and reinvigorate the site to create a destination and sense of place for the new later living community.

Life3A solution

The Life3A solution was for a design that will allow the residents to age in place safely and with dignity while the communal amenity spaces encourage interaction with the local community as well as friends and family.

Exceptional outcome

Guild Walton-on-Thames will be a benchmark in later living environments, integrating seamlessly with the town centre, providing care and wellness support, green spaces, and community connections.Above all, it creates a safe, welcoming and homely environment for Guild Members to enjoy.
