Project objective
The project objective was to develop an attractive, boutique senior’s living development that would appeal to the local high-end market and provide an extension to an existing residential aged care development. High quality, use of the site, and a design that supported safety and peace of mind were the highest priority.
Client challenge
The key challenge was to maximise the potential of an inner-city site that delivers modern later living apartments The client was aiming for a balance between the site’s development potential and yield, while maintaining high-quality amenity and outlook for the apartments as part of the appeal to high-end residents. An additional challenge was to achieve development approval in a reasonable time frame.
Life3A solution
Life3A’ s solution was a 3-storey building form that edges the available site area and creates a landscaped courtyard between the apartments and the existing residential aged care buildings. High-quality fittings and finishes feature throughout the apartments, while the thoughtful shared spaces, such as the cinema, library, landscaped gardens, and manicured lawns are designed to be an extension of a resident’s apartment and connection with others.
Exceptional outcome
The development is well regarded in the local community for its low impact, low scale, and exceptional accommodation provided. It sets a standard for boutique retirement living, with nearby care and support services to help residents stay independent for longer.
