Highlights

  • Additions to the master planned seniors living Aveo site in Clayfield, Brisbane.
  • 66 independent living apartments.
  • Double-storey community centre.
  • Renovations to Highlands House, a heritage listed mansion located in the village heart.

Project objective

The project was an expansion within an existing later living site, comprising an additional 66 independent living units. The existing site, known as The Clayfield, is a mix of new and heritage-listed buildings, each with distinct, traditional architecture. The site is an enabling environment for all residents, with seamless integration into the existing facilities.

Client challenge

The topography came with complexities, particularly the steeply sloping site, as well as the need to be mindful of the location’s heritage and city location. The 1870s-built Highlands House was renovated as a communal space to support a sense of community.

Life3A solution

The Molloy Building is designed with the apartments orientated to enjoy tranquil landscaped spaces or spectacular views towards the Brisbane CBD skyline. Communal areas have also been orientated to take advantage of the elevated site. The building continues the site’s blend of old and new architecture, with a full range of support services for independent living.

Exceptional outcome

Working closely with the client group, we have developed Aveo Clayfield into a unique environment for seniors living within Brisbane.
