Why Later Living?
Focussing on the Later Living sector gives me a great sense of purpose in life. It has always been a personal passion that has been driven by personal experience, since I first chose architecture as my profession.
Back in Secondary School, I focussed on an aged care facility for my Year 12 Design Project – I wanted to improve the environment for my Grandpa. I designed a new Aged Care facility that was light and bright with lots of daylight and views out over garden courtyards. It had glazed walls that folded back to let in fresh air and connect to nature, environments that were intimate and warm, and a sense of privacy was achieved for residents whilst still ensuring good visibility and access when required for nursing staff.
I continue to be driven by the personal experiences of my relatives and family.
What’s a career highlight?
Particular highlights are recent strategic projects that broaden the health services offering through the addition of acute care and community health care services to large sites.
In general, working strategically on large sites to optimise the health and wellbeing solution, providing high and low care accommodation for those that need it and independent accommodation for those that just want the reassurance of care if and when they need it.
Through Life3A’s focus on environments for older people, their global network of integrated offices and broad range of services, they can provide a comprehensive response to asset and service provider's needs. We bring a deep understanding of the seniors and aged care industry tailored to the specific needs of each organization and also the community it serves.
