Why later living and care?
I am driven by the belief that the work we do in this sector can make a positive impact on peoples’ lives. Until recently, the UK has invested very little in both the quality and suitability of later living accommodation. Now this is starting to change, and I am excited to be part this movement and to work on the challenges associated with progressive design.
Career highlight
In 2018 I had the opportunity to join the construction team responsible for building the ‘Burning Man Temple’, one of the most significant places celebrated at ‘Burning Man’, an arts festival held annually in Nevada Desert, USA. The 20m tall and 60m wide, spiraling wooden structure took 35 days to build in the sweltering heat – and I enjoyed almost all of them!
